The Environment the The Grounds
Eaglemont is a planned community that was designed to respect the environment. The area contains 36 storm water and pond areas. In addition there are numerous wetlands and natural areas that are designated to remain in their natural state. These areas are not to be entered or used for any purpose. These areas are planned as a buffer area between developed zones. They provide privacy, wildlife habitat and encourage the rowth of native plants.
Trees are precious in maintaining the environment. Within the natural areas trees are not permitted to be cut or pruned without the appropriate permits. In the case of trees that have become dangerous due to age, disease or wind damage, the Association will take care of them. Even when trees must be cut down, they will be left in the natural areas to augment the environment.
For common areas the Association always tries to plant indigenous species that survive well in the Pacific Northwest. Wherever possible, natural methods of weed and pest control will be followed to minimize the impact on the environment. The use of chemical treatments will be limited and only products approved for residential use will be applied. Over time it is the goal of the association to reduce grass areas and replace them with bark and shrubs to accent features of Eaglemont.
